You choose your spot
Riding Factory is not a school with three addresses: it is the freedom to surf wherever you feel like it. Three beaches, three exposures to the swell, three different tides: we surf almost every day. You book on the spot of your choice, and we advise you according to:
- Your level and your age
- The tide, which changes the face of each beach
- The swell and the day's weather
- What you fancy: discovering, having fun, progressing or chasing sensations
Your level
From your first take-off to manoeuvres
Beginner
New to surfing? We will get you riding your first waves! Standing or lying down, on a surfboard or a bodyboard, we have the board you need. Low tide will be ideal for you.
Improver
You ride the whitewater and are starting to feel your board. We will take you to your first unbroken waves. Low tide and mid-tide will be your ideal hours.
Advanced
Ride higher-performance boards, work on your lines and manoeuvres, try several boards to find the one that suits you. Surf at every tide!
Group lessons
For everyone who wants a first experience, the first sensations of riding, lying down or standing up. Or simply a quick surf, solo, with family or with friends. Already surfing but in need of a technical tune-up? We will help you get your reflexes back. For the little ones, or for even more sensations, we can teach bodyboarding.
1.5-hour sessions, flexible times depending on the tides and your availability, and a friendly atmosphere for maximum fun. Warning: surfing is addictive, once you start you may never stop!
Private lessons
One hour, one or two people maximum: an instructor to coach you individually whatever your level. Surfing is a complex sport; the weather, the waves and the different beaches force us to adapt constantly. In a private lesson, the instructor's experience lets you catch more waves, at the best moment, with targeted goals. If your level allows it, we film the session for video feedback.
The spot is chosen according to the day's conditions and your goals, among our beaches: Les Demoiselles, La Pège and soon a new spot.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
From what age can you take a surf lesson?
From age 5, provided you can swim. For the youngest or more timid ones, bodyboarding (from age 4) is the ideal gateway to surfing.
Is the equipment provided?
Yes. In all our lessons and courses the wetsuit is included, as well as a board suited to your level: surfboard or bodyboard. On the 5-day course you get your own wetsuit for the week, and a shower is available after the session at La Pège.
How long does a session last?
Group lessons and courses last about 1.5 hours per session. A private lesson lasts 1 hour. Please arrive 15 minutes early to get changed! Times follow the tides: we confirm them when you book.
What is the difference between Les Demoiselles and La Pège?
Two beaches, two characters. Les Demoiselles beach (Saint-Jean-de-Monts): the laid-back beach vibe, a wide sandy beach and gentle, regular waves. La Pège beach (Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez): the wild spot, our home base, with dunes, unspoilt sandbanks and waves that change with the tide. And a third spot is coming soon! Whatever your level, you choose the spot you like, and we advise you according to the swell, the tide, the weather and what you fancy.
Can I surf outside the lessons during the 5-day course?
Yes, with the Freedom option (€50): you keep your board all week and surf freely outside the lessons. Add it when booking or ask the school.
Can I book several sessions at once?
Yes, directly online. When booking several sessions, make sure you select the dates and times of every slot before paying.
